CDOT R3 US 6 CO 9 Corridor Operations Study
Silverthorne/Dillon, Colorado
January 2023 - Present
Stolfus is preparing a corridor operations study for CDOT Region 3 at the I-70 US 6/CO 9 (Exit 205) interchange from Lake Dillon Drive/Evergreen Road (US 6F MP 209.844) to Hamilton Creek Rd (CO 9D MP 103.979) and supplemental areas along the corridor including the I-70 Exit 205 interchange and the Stephen’s Way and Wildernest Rd loop. The purpose of this project is to identify safety and efficiency improvements for US 6 and CO 9 using a data-driven approach to corridor operations and safety within the context of existing and proposed land uses and infrastructure. Given the build-out throughout the corridor, additional thru travel lanes are not a priority. Stolfus is partnering with CDOT representatives and local stakeholders to define key success factors and establish criteria for measuring success. The project team is implementing a Context Sensitive Solutions (CSS) “light” process with a public involvement process to present and obtain feedback on corridor recommendations.
